THE sport of the Czech Republic!

Football is the most popular sport in the Czech Republic; almost all the teams of the country and the best ones are located in Prague. The two most famous teams in the national football league are Sparta Prague, who had been often qualified for the Champions League, and its local rival Slavia Prague. Two others important teams but smaller are Viktoria Žižkov and the Bohemians. Each has its own stadium where you can watch matches, mostly on Sunday afternoons.
Even if the quality of football in Prague is not the same as the one of the others first leagues in Europe, it's nevertheless entertaining and cheap to watch matches! Indeed, tickets for league games will hardly ever cost more than 3 euros, while tickets for big international matches usually cost around 16 euros.
So, if one needs to enjoy oneself, one can go to see a match from the domestic Gambrinus liga but to have more spectacle one should see big national team games, European club competition or certain key local games, such as the Sparta-Slavia derby.
The season usually begins in August and ends in June with a winter break from late November until late February.
